Speaker Application Guidelines

We're looking for speakers with exciting new ideas to share. You should be an expert on your topic, whether academic, professional or even through unique personal experience, and be able to deliver an inspiring, thought-provoking message, delivered in under 18 minutes, that is relevant to our theme, "Perception vs. Reality".

TEDx has four major content restrictions which must be observed at TEDxFremantle. These are:

   1. No selling from the stage
   2. No political agendas
   3. No religious proselytizing
   4. Only good science

Please note that it is your responsibility to get permission for any third-party material which is being used as part of your presentation – this includes image and sound licensing rights as well as ideas. Please ensure that you have the rights to all content you will be presenting.

Public speaking coaching will be made available to the successful applicants if desired.

You will need to prepare the following elements for your online application:

Please limit your pitch document to 500 words or less, that covers the background story and impact of your idea. This should include:

Please prepare a one minute (maximum) video in mp4 or avi format. This is your elevator pitch to explain your idea and grab our attention. Think on answering the following: What is your idea? Why is your idea worth spreading?

Please name your video file LastnameFirstname.

3. Resume document

Your most recent C.V. This should ideally illustrate your credentials (academic or experiential) to speak on your chosen topic, or give insight to your breadth of knowledge.
